You tap the egg, and it cracks. A tiny bunny pops out, blinking up at you with big eyes. That’s the hook of Bunnies - Happy Pet World, and honestly, it works every time. My four-year-old niece has hatched about thirty of them so far, and she still squeals each time a new one appears.

More than just a petting zoo

Sure, you feed them, wash them, and put them to bed. But the game sneaks in a surprising amount of variety. Each bunny has its own little personality — some are shy, some are hyper, and one of mine keeps trying to hide behind a flowerpot. You collect coins by playing mini-games, then spend them on new outfits, furniture, and decorations for their room. The educational angle is light: counting coins, matching patterns, and basic cause-and-effect stuff. Nothing heavy, but it keeps little hands busy and brains engaged for a good twenty minutes at a stretch.

The graphics are bright and chunky, with that soft, rounded look that toddlers love. Everything is clickable, and the animations are smooth enough to not feel janky. There’s no text-heavy instructions either — just icons and sounds, so even a kid who can’t read can figure out how to brush a bunny’s fur or give it a carrot. The only downside? The ads. They pop up between games, and while you can skip most after a few seconds, they’re a bit aggressive for the age group. A dollar or two gets you an ad-free version, which I’d recommend if your kid gets frustrated easily.

One thing I didn’t expect: the bunnies actually get attached to you. Leave the game for a day, and they’ll look sad when you come back. It’s a small touch, but it makes the care routine feel real. My niece now insists we “check on the bunnies” before breakfast, and I’m not mad about it.

If you’ve got a kid under eight who loves animals and needs something calm to do on a car ride, this is a solid pick. Just be ready for the ads, or shell out the pocket change to kill them. Either way, those little egg-cracking moments are worth it.
